TikTok's new app is here 👀

Sorry, I am 7 but the name Whee really does make me laugh. TikTok has officially launched its image sharing app and it’s called Whee.

And yes, it looks exactly like Instagram.

In a statement released with the app, TikTok seems to be trying to reach those Instagram users who miss the “old” Instagram: “Capture and share real-life photos that only your friends can see, allowing you to be your most authentic self.”

Eeek. As Instagram continues to show your content less and less to people who follow you, it seems like TikTok is coming in hot to fill that gap in the market.

The app is still being tested but if it works, it could be another major blow to Instagram.

This isn’t so good for Elon. According to a new Reuters report, TikTok is now the #1 source for news on social media.

Back in the good ol’ days of Twitter, you could get up-to-minute news updates but with the recent changes, users are finding it more difficult to use X as a news source. Now, it looks like people are heading to the clock app to get the news they want.

Not only is X declining, but Facebook has massively declined as a news source too. Seems like Facebook removing news as a tab on its platform has had an impact, whodathunk!

As X continues to push to be the most truthful and reliable news platform, it seems to be a bit of a blow that users don’t view it as such anymore.
