How to grow on Instagram in 2025

Well, hello there!

While we were only gone for a few weeks, it seems like social media platforms have decided they can’t stop, won’t stop—even during the holidays.

Like, was it actually serious about this? It seems like Meta can’t learn from its mistakes.

Remember when Meta launched AI characters on Instagram last year and people hated it so much that Meta decided to delete the accounts? Well, it seems like it hasn’t deleted all of them.

And guess what? The reviews are in! No one likes them.

Too bad for all of us though, as Meta recently told the Financial Times it “expect[s] these AIs to actually, over time, exist on our platforms, kind of in the same way that accounts do.”

While it seems like an absolutely wild thing to do, Meta has already started the process, like creators in the US being able to create chatbots of themselves.

It seems that even though people clearly don’t want this, AI chatbots will soon be all over our future social media platforms.

It seems X didn’t get the memo that we’re in a cost-of-living crisis as it has announced that its Premium+ subscription will be increasing by 30%. 

Yes, 30%!

Why the price change? 

X is making Premium+ completely ad-free, creating new features, increasing the usage of its AI, and helping pay creators more money based on user engagement rather than ad revenue.

It seems X’s biggest focus for 2025 is building out its Grok AI—especially after it has launched a standalone app for Grok in certain countries. 

While going from $16 to $22/month doesn’t seem like a massive increase, it will definitely deter some users unless they can see a major improvement in the app. 😬

We’re only a few days away from the Supreme Court hearing that could change the game for the TikTok ban. 

And in the few short weeks we were celebrating the holidays, more people have come forward to weigh in on the ban. 

President-elect Trump has asked the Supreme Court to delay the ban until after he is president (when he says he will stop the ban from happening). And now the Justice Department has stepped forward asking the Supreme Court to deny Trump’s request.

As we are only 3 days out from the hearing, my guess is the hearing will move forward and we will soon know if TikTok has a future in the USA.
