Remember when Bluesky first launched and everyone was scrambling for a code to get in, and then chatter around the app slowly … died?
Yeah, same.
Well, now the Bluesky hype is back and bigger than ever all thanks to people leaving X for different platforms.
The app, which is still relatively small in comparison to Threads and X, is exactly like old Twitter—same layout, same format. And a lot of people are jumping on board. The thing that makes Bluesky more fun and unique though? A few different features:
Custom algorithmic feeds: Yes, that’s a thing. You’ll start with the two feeds Bluesky creates for you, but you have the option to create your own. You’ll be able to only view things you’re interested in, like recipes, local news, OOTDs, whatever you fancy! It’s easy to set up and one of the best features on the app.
Starter packs: Finding people to follow on a new platform is always a challenge, and Bluesky makes it easy by creating prepackaged lists of accounts you might be interested in based on a theme.
Custom URL: Yes, instead of some boring and generic username, you can create your own domain name for your username.
Labelers: Okay, we all know most platforms have ways for you to hide content, but a Labeler can do that PLUS give you content you want to see more of. Scroll through the lists of Labelers and customize it to your own preferences.
With more and more people heading to Bluesky, I have a feeling these features are going to get better and better. Do you Bluesky yet?
