What new features has Instagram released?
Instagram has rolled out its new âYour Activityâ display where you can enable improved content management in the app. It also expanded access to its Security Check-up tool to help users improve their overall experience on the app.
Letâs dive deep into each of the features:
Your Activity
With its ongoing testing of this feature over the past few months, Instagram has now officially launched the updated dashboard to ALL users. Within this update, you can do a bulk delete option where you can manage your displayed content on your feed (!!).
Youâll also be able to see a full overview of your entire Instagram activity, like time spent on the app, interactions with others, searches, and the content youâve uploaded over the years. Ahem, even ones that havenât been posted. đł
What weâre most excited about with this new feature is the capability of easily managing what people can see on your profile. You can quickly delete posts by selecting them and deleting them! You can also archive them if the delete button is too permanent for you. đ
According to Instagram, Security Checkup âguides people through the steps needed to secure their account including checking login activity, reviewing profile information, confirming the accounts that share login information, and updating account recovery contact information such as a phone number or email address. To complete Security Checkup, go to your Profile and tap the menu in the upper right corner, next tap âSettingsâ, âSecurityâ then tap âSecurity Checkup.â
Previously, the check-up was launched for those whose accounts had been hacked but now is available to all users on the app.
Instagram is also testing a new way to help users regain access to their locked accounts through a new process that will make people ask their friends to confirm their identity in the app. Now how will that work?
Well, once you have entered in a previous password, you will then need to âdial a friendâ aka choose two friends in the app to confirm who you are. Once your connections confirm your identity, youâll be asked to enter in a new password and be good to go.
